Madison to Oklahoma City

We left home shortly after 6:00am, Audrey and Emma still in nightclothes. By 7:00, Emma had become carsick and thrown up on the side of the road. By 9:00, Audrey had thrown up her Ritz bits into a grocery bag. The outlook was pretty grim for driving 20 hours in two days. Luckily, that was the end of the sickness. Everyone was fine after that. We traversed the Mississippi delta 5 miles on one road, 10 miles on another, 5 on another, etc. until we crossed the Mississippi River near Greenville. Then the rain came. It was pouring as hard as I have ever seen rain pour. Driving at 40 felt suicidal with hydroplaning, standing water, plumes, and nearly no visibility. It was dark enough it seemed like the sun had not come up, yet. We emerged from the rain about two hours later and ended up in Little Rock, AR by around 12:00.

Torpedo
ClimbingThe sun was out, but it was very humid. Looking for lunch, we ended up at a river trail park on the northern side of the Arkansas River. We crossed the bridge on foot and ended up at a fantastic park with rock climbing, rope structures, etc. After playing for a little while, I realized that Emma had run off.

Soaking Emma She was playing in the fountain down the hill and was completely soaked from head to toe. We moved toward town to find lunch and came across a farmer's market. Farmer's MarketWe had smoothies and lunch and bought a ring and bracelet from a jeweler for Audrey and Emma. Back across the bridge, we changed Emma into dry clothes behind a blanket that she called her "locker."

Swimming After about 5 more hours of driving, we arrived in Oklahoma City, found our hotel, and hit the pool to release a ton of pent up energy. We ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse because it was the only place that didn't require more time in the car.
