My exploration of the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

I recently explored all of the trails at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. It was mildly warm, much nicer than the past month or two, but still humid and muggy. But I enjoyed the hike very much. I ended up clearing the trail of at least twenty spider webs that were crossing it. Some of them I was able to move over with my map, others I didn't see and ended up wearing on my shirt and face. But I wasn't bitten! Yeah!

So, am I a pirate/contributor?

An interesting study was done lately to vindicate my views on copyright infringement and file sharing. The piracy issue is very simple on the surface, but has quite a bit of complexity that shows up any time you try to figure out a proper policy to handle copyright issues. This entry will explore one facet of the multidimensional intellectual property debate going on today.

Perception Is Reality

The phrase, "perception is reality," is one of the most ignorant statements I've recently heard. I vehemently disagree with it and wish people would stop spreading it around. While I can appreciate the situations in politics and marketing (are they still separate fields, or have they merged?) where creating a false perception can shape and alter reality, I urge you to understand that perception is still just perception. And there is still an underlying reality that may or may not be reflected by the perception of any or all of the people in it.

Day Two Back: Rocky Mountain National Park

Friday was a mixture of good and bad, but turned out to be a day with many memories made. That's good. Rather than try to see how many miles we could put away, we took the opportunity to explore Rocky Mountain National Park. We intended to visit on the way to Utah, but settled for seeing it now. We also were able to take a bike ride in Frisco Friday morning that was very nice. I remember why I love the mountains so much.

Thursday, July 12th - Salt Lake City, UT to Frisco, CO

We're back on the road again!

Antelope Island

I need to sleep more.
So I'll just post the pictures.
Antelope Island.

Fathers' Day

We had a good time on Fathers' Day. My mom made very good food and stuffed me full. Audrey got an early birthday present and played with it quite a bit entertaining herself and Emma, too. That's always nice. Thanks Grandma Janice.

Day Six: Moab to Salt Lake City

We took a ton of pictures today. Rather than driving all day, we put off the three hour drive until evening and played during the day. We woke up in Moab and planned to explore Arches until lunch, then go to Dead Horse Point, then spend the afternoon in Canyonlands. Oh how ambition fades. I still want to come back and do it all, but it took us until mid-afternoon to finish our first hike to Delicate Arch in Arches. We made it to Dead Horse Point after a late lunch, but that was it. All we had left after that was a short trip home.

Day Five: Colorado Springs to Moab

Day Four: Santa Fe to Colorado Springs

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

The plan for today was to visit Capulin Volcano in Northern New Mexico, then move on to Pike's Peak near Colorado Springs for the cog railroad ride to the top. After finding out that we needed to get to Colorado Springs earlier than I'd planned before, and after leaving Santa Fe around 9:30 instead of 8:00, we decided to not even attempt the cog railway. We'd just take it easy and take our time exploring the volcano instead.
